Knight of the Wood
Just thought I would have a play with a couple of my images and came up with this, not sure if it really works or not, but I did learn a lot of Photoshop skills in trying to put it all together.

Back to Big Pit
Had a flying visit to Big Pit again, and noticed the low sun casting some nice light on this old railway truck, although the rust colour worked well in the colour image, I felt that the monochrome version just had far more tone and detail.

End of the day sunlight
Took this shot whilst walking out on the Blorage Mountain as the sun was disappearing over the hillside, guess the horse was just soaking up the last rays of warm sunlight before the rain came again.

Silica Mines
Today the weather was not very photogenic outside, so I decided to visit the Silica Mines near Pontnedfechan, South Wales. These images were lit up via quite a few remote flash guns being fired off by infrared slaves, some of these shots can take up to a hour to get right, rearranging the various light sources.

Pontsticill Reservoir
I had visited this reservoir many times over the past few weeks as the water does not very often go down this plug hole, but the lighting has not always been good. But today the light was good although the water was a bit ripply, so I used the 10 stop filter to get a 20 second exposure which smoothed out the water.

The Bridge, Lawnmower Race
With heavy rain in the morning, this race was looking like a non-starter. But as we approached the starting time, the rain stopped. So as the race started the track was still very wet producing lots of muddy water, which soon became thick mud, coating all the mowers and drivers. This did keep the speeds down as it was more of a challenged to stay on the track itself and facing the right direction, but a good day of racing was had by all.

The Baiting House Lawnmower Race
We had another good day of racing today, with the weather just holding dry, espicially as this race had already been cancelled before due to heavy rain.

The New Inn Lawnmower race
Today was the 3rd round of the WMLMRA, weather was very changeable throughout the day, with the rain making the track like a skating ring, which in turn made the racing very interesting (staying on the track was the biggest challenge).

The Mason Arms, Lawnmower Racing
The second round of the WMLMRA was held today at The Masons Arms, which gave us a good day of racing. The weather held off just long enough to keep us dry.

Blanavon Railway
The weather has not been great over this Easter Holiday, but I have managed to get out and about including a visit to the Blanavon Railway where they were holding a steam event over the Easter Holiday. As I was taking some photos of the trains, one of the drivers invited me on-board the engine unit, where I was able to get up close to the controls and firebox.

Spotted this rainbow as I approached Glasbury on Wye, so I managed to park up and grab a few shots before the heavy rain came and the rainbow disappeared.

Garnon's Point to Point
Today, the weather looked fine, so I headed west to a big country estate locally known as The Garnon's. Anyway they hold two Point to Point horse races here every year. I met up with a few other photographers who were also trying to capture the feel of the day. It was a great day of racing enjoyed by the competitors and us.

A Day on the Gower
Today I headed down to the Gower, weather was very overcast in the morning, so just went off walking around the Three Cliffs Area. Around lunch time, weather had not improved, so I decided to visit the Mumbles where I might be able to get a few close up shots. Whilst walking around the Mumbles, the sun started to appear, so I had to make a choice of where to go next, and I decided upon a revisit to the old cast iron lighthouse on North Gower as low tide was set for about 4.00pm.

Llanfrynach Point to Point
Today was spent at the Llanfrynach Point to Point race Nr Brecon, weather was rather changeable throughout the day, but I still managed to capture some images in between the rain storms. These Point to Point events are always good fun for us photographers as we can get quite close to the action.
